From our door to Noordwijk beach and dunes
You do not need the car for the coast. Leave the guesthouse on foot and you can reach the sand in about ten minutes. From there, make the walk as short or long as the day allows.

The first ten minutes
Walk from Duinweg towards Noordwijk aan Zee and follow the signs for the beach. The last part rises towards the dunes before the North Sea comes into view.
We will point out the current access route when you arrive. Coastal works and seasonal beach entrances can change the best final turn, while the walking time stays about ten minutes.
A short walk by the water
For an easy outing, walk along the waterline and return through Noordwijk aan Zee. The hard sand near the water is easier underfoot when the tide allows it.
Add a coffee by the sea or continue into the centre on the way back. This route works well on arrival day or before check-out.
More distance through the dunes
National Park Hollandse Duinen surrounds Noordwijk. Hollands Duin stretches north, while the Coepelduynen lie south towards Katwijk. Both give you sand paths, open views and sheltered sections behind the sea ridge.
Use the official route network for a longer walk and stay on marked paths where signs require it. The protected dunes supply drinking water, shelter wildlife and hold the sea back, so access rules can change with the season.
Wind, tide and what to bring
Check the wind and rain before you leave, then take one layer more than you expect to need. Sunlight on the beach can hide a cold breeze.
Shoes with grip help on loose dune sand. Bring water for a longer route and save the sauna for when you return. It takes about twenty minutes to warm while you shower or make tea.
